Many of you will want to set up an account at a local bank for convenience. There are several banks and credit unions within a block or two of the downtown campus and most have mobile friendly services in place. You may need various forms of identification (e.g., driver's license, passport) to open an account so be sure to bring those with you.
Health Care Options
You have access to on-campus health services during the fall and spring semesters. The third party provider, SP Health Clinic, staffs the office in UB 210E (808-544-9361), and is open 16 hours a week during the semester. You will have no co-pay at the time of visit, and health insurance is not required to be seen. You may learn more about the on-campus health services here.
There is also a major hospital only a few blocks from the downtown campus (Queen's Medical Center) that includes an emergency room. Castle Medical Center is very close to the Hawai'i Loa campus in Kaneohe. There are several other hospitals around the island in addition to many "urgent care" centers or walk-in clinics. Be sure to bring your insurance coverage information with you.
